Club Activities- Fall 2005

Feedstuffs Kits Assembly-November 29, 2005

The very popular feedstuffs study kits are selling out fast, so club members assemble more kits for use by FFA chapters. The first step is to put the various types of feedstuffs into jars and mark each jar with an identifying number.
After all the jars are filled, members put one of each type into a plastic box with a CD guide.

National ASA Meetings (SASES), Salt Lake City, Utah-November 4-8, 2005

Andrew and Ms Stoller can't stop doing school work, even at the airport.
Brandon, Caitlin, Krista, and TJ wait to take the tour at Temple Square.
Everyone enjoyed seeing the architecture and hearing the history of Mormonism at Temple Square.
The Great Salt Lake was slightly smelly and very far from the road.
Old cars are part of the erosion solution on a trail in the mountains. Kate, Caitlin, and Krista check one out.
A long hike with great mountain scenery was a good way to burn off extra energy (or to wake up after a long night before).
Kate explains the club poster to the judges.
Heather presented her research for the student poster contest.
Stan Sipp joined the crowd for dinner at the Macaroni Grill.
Heather, Allison, TJ, and Krista were the second place quiz bowl team. You must have excellent teachers!
The handsome Field and Furrow guys are ready to go out and impress girls from other colleges.
The Field and Furrow ladies: Krista, Allison, Heather, Caitlin, and Kate.
Kate, Caitlin, and Andrew show how to (or not to) line dance.
Andrew won third place for his excellent presentation in the speech contest.
The Great Salt Lake.

Meeting and New Member Initiation-November 1, 2005

Club members listen intently at the November meeting (pay attention, Petey).
Eleven awesome new members were initiated. Matt Murray and Regan Joehl read the secret rites of passage into the Field and Furrow Club.

Pumpkin and Mum Sales-October 7, 2005

The club sold pumpkins and mums on the ag quad.

Putt-Putt Golf-September 13, 2005

Paul Kirbach, Brandon Laue, Eddie Bohlen, TJ Ruyle, and Alex Meyer prepare to show their Putt-Putt skills at the annual fall social event.
Jared Walter conquers the ever-tricky "up-the hill and to the right" hole.
Social chair Krista Ubbenga shows that you can be a great putter with great style.
Brandon Laue forgot to stay on the green part of the course.
After several engineering calculations to predict proper ball angle and velocity, Sean Breen lines up his putt.
Brad Meese, Cody Bliss, and Craig Sondgeroth are actually just here to hang out and look cool.

Feed Your fACES -September 12, 2005

Field and Furrow Club set up a display at the ACES Feed Your fACES cookout.
Sean Breen and Ryan Avanatti are two good reasons to sign up to join Field and Furrow Club.
Is it? Wait, no, it couldn't be, but it is....the hard-working, ever present, always smiling El Presidente, Regan Joehl.

Fall Callout -September 1, 2005

A hard-played softball game got the Fall Callout started this year. New attendees, old members, and a few faculty members had a great time (no injuries!).
Every game needs people on the sideline for support. Stephanie Rousonelos, Anna Bishop, Jared Walter, and Kate Legge are doing a great job.
TJ "Killer Griller" Ruyle and Brandon "The Tong" Laue were in charge of porkchop preparation. Thanks!
A long line formed to get porkchop sandwiches, chips, and cookies for dinner.
Club President Regan Joehl gets the first meeting of the year underway by welcoming new members and getting the club's business accomplished.

Quad Day -August 23, 2005

Club ACES Council Rep Brandon Laue and President Regan Joehl "man" the Field and Furrow booth at Quad Day.
Brandon and Regan hope that winning smiles and laid back attitudes will help
attract new member sign-ups.
A-"maize"-ingly, a walking ear of corn happened by the club's display.

Agronomy Day -August 18, 2005

Matt Murray, Regan Joehl, and Heather Clodfelter help sell donuts, coffee, and pop to attendees at the 49th annual Agronomy Day held at the South Farms.
Thomas Conley and Sean Breen are happy to be providing pop/soda to thirsty attendees.
Stan Sipp is invaluable on Agronomy Day in helping keep coffee and pop in good supply for the club. He helps Thomas and Sean reload the pop/soda tank.
In the background, recent Crop Sci graduate Joel McCormick tells Krista Ubbenga how much he loves his "real world" job.
Matt Murray and Regan Joehl sell donuts and talk to customers.
Mike Meyer, Andrew Bowman, and Krista Ubbenga are all so glad to be back at school.
Regan and Sean talk about "what I did this summer."
