Quad Day-August 24, 2004

Each year, thousands of students crowd the University of Illinois Quad at the beginning of the
fall semester to check out opportunities to join some of the many clubs on campus

Farm Safety Day Camp-August 28, 2004

Club members have some breakfast and wait to hear what will happen when the campers arrive
Nathan Schnettgoecke and Jared Walter ask the important question:
"Milk, orange juice or apple juice?"
Yale Epler has the job of "horn honking", letting campers know that it's time to switch sessions
Everyone gets an assembly

National Meetings SASE (Seattle, Washington)-October 29-November 2, 2004

Everyone is excited to fly from Bloomington to Seattle
Saturday was reserved for sight-seeing. The first place to go is Pikes Market where fish fly and produce is plentiful
Seattle has many homeless people. This person was very determined to get into the group picture at the market
After eating at the market, the group took the ferry across
Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island
At the Olympic Wildlife Park, a piece of bread can get you a yak in the car
This bear was very friendly
A quick stop at the water on the way to the forest

Olympic Park was very different from what we see in Illinois

After the road was blocked, the group decided to take the trail in search of mountain snow
After about an hour and a half of hiking, it was decided that the best way to see snow was from a distance
On Sunday, it was time to get to work. David Shore gave the first place talk in the oral research presentation contest
Kate Legge presented the club poster,
which tied for 5th place
Everyone was forced to go and eat fresh seafood

The flight from Chicago to Bloomington was cancelled. Regan contemplates walking home

Feedstuffs Kit Assembly-November 9, 2004

Club members began a new project this year of assembling feedstuff samples kits for FFA judging practice. The first step is to put each of the 32 sample types into individual jars
Lids are carefully put on each jar
Each jar must be identified by the correct sample number
Once all the jars are filled and marked, an assembly line is set up to put one of each type of sample into a container for shipping to the FFA clubs
